De-Zombifying Humanity – Blindfolded Kids Who Can See: The Future of Human Potential
In this paradigm-shifting episode, “Blindfold Vision, Luminous Children & The New Way of Being,” Alec Zeck and Dr. Edith Ubuntu Chan take us into the mystical fringe of human development—where children (and some adults) see with their hearts, not their eyes. It’s a deeply personal and provocative exploration of perception, spirituality, and the future of education, grounded in Dr. Chan’s dark‑retreat experiences and her own practice of energy medicine.
This is a very interesting and at times a very moving interview. I watch lots of videos and the ones that inspire and move me end up here on my Soulful Videos blog. This interview has given me much hope for humanity. About a couple of decades ago I heard about Indigo Children from the The Conversation with God books and the movie Indigo staring Neale Donald Walsch. (Watch Indigo on YouTube.) Now in this interview with Edith, I am seeing the evidence of the amazing children who are now on our planet, and who are showing us what we are all capable of.
Alec sits down with Edith, a Harvard‑trained mathematician turned holistic Chinese medicine practitioner and consciousness coach, to explore the phenomenon of blindfold vision and her “Luminous Kids Blindfold Vision Training” — where children are taught to be able to perceive the world without using their physical eyes. The conversation calls into question deeply held beliefs about perception, human potential, and how we educate and raise children.
This training enables children as young as 5 years old to perform various visual tasks while blindfolded, including:
- Accurately naming the colour on a card held behind their head
- Reading books and text
- Playing chess
- Solving Rubik’s cubes
- Identifying objects
- Perceiving items at remote locations via video calls
I had heard about children seeing without eyes via Tom Campbell in a video he posted from 6 years ago. Matrixwissen Documentary: Seeing Without Eyes. Tom uses the term “MindSight” to describe Seeing without Eyes. He is gathering information, via a google form to do some scientific research into the phenomenon. If you can see without your eyes please consider sharing your experiences with Tom Campbell by filling in the form available on the cusac.org website or click here to go directly to the form. Tom’s website about the research is Mindsight.study
I found this interview with Dr. Chan to be very encouraging, with the information about how the younger generation of parents who are choosing to homeschool or unschool their children, or doing, as Edith prefers to call it, self-directed interested learning. (~ 1:38:05)
“I don’t like the term unschooling because it’s talking about what you’re not doing versus talking about all the amazing things that you’re doing and I also don’t like the term homeschooling because we’re not at home” … “we’ll call it self self-directed interested learning”
This is leading to a new generation of people who are in contact with their intuition, who are going to show us the way to being a more conscious humanity. It is interesting that Edith has the middle name of Ubuntu, Ubuntu is an African philosophy that emphasises the interconnectedness of humanity.
Partway through my children’s schooling we pulled them out and switched to unschooling.
Early in the video Edith tells about her awaking experience in a Chi Gong (Qigong) class. (~7:31)
“this particular day in Chi Gong class there was nothing that could have prepared me for this so I’m following this guided meditation and breathing and breathing and doing the visualisation and guiding the qi and all of a sudden the whole thing just exploded into trillions and trillions of pieces of love and light just the size of the cosmos all of a sudden I experienced myself the size of creation the feeling was so blissful so beautiful so peaceful there aren’t really words to describe it but somehow I knew that I went home somehow I knew that I had returned to our natural state all of our natural states”
Later when she returned she shared that she realised that we have it all wrong. (~10:26)
“appreciation so much gratitude like the word gratitude just feels too small like there’s no words to describe like I went home i remembered who and what I really am i’m I know you know so much gratitude and appreciation for having gone home and then simultaneous to that I suddenly just instantaneously knew that this place is built backwards and upside down and then there was this grief like oh my goodness not only myself but most of us in this reality we live a life that’s backwards and upside down it’s all a bunch of lies so I felt so sad and so angry and so confused and it was just so many things it was really hard to metabolise everything that I experienced in that moment you know”
Edith also mentions that she had a Near death like experience which is similar to a NDE. (~18.12)
“why is this place so backwards and upside down and I found a lot of peace in connecting with near-death experiencers because what they experienced was so similar to what I had experienced and so um some people have said that what I experienced was like a near death like experience”
She talks about a vision where she meets mother earth, Pachamama. (~58.55)
“Pachamama came through and it was a loving energy so loving I’d never experience anything so loving and it was a motherly loving energy and she it was like hi honey it was like an embrace you know and I’m realising as I’m telling you that I have this pattern where I was just another one of these like I’m so sorry I’m not worthy kind of moments where I she’s her her consciousness is so huge and so vast and she was so non-judgmental so loving and still I felt guilt and shame … And um and I said “Well what about all the pillaging and the pollution and all the crap that we do?” and the experience she had she transmitted something kind of like um you know for those in the audience and you have kids and toddlers you know when your toddler is like two and they’re eating and it’s like doesn’t get in and it’s just all over their shirt and it spills all over the ground and it’s like chocolate mouth or blueberry mouth and you’re like “Oh my goodness it’s so cute let me take a photo.” That’s how she experienced us making a big hot mess here wow she’s like “I love you so much you’re growing up so fast honey you’re growing up perfectly when you’re older you’ll just clean up don’t worry about it it’s all perfect.”
At this point, while watching the video, the dust in air began to affect my eyes.
What Is Blindfold Vision?
Edith then tells us about her journey with her children, homeschooling along a spiritual path. She mentions that she watched a film called Superhuman with her son. (~1:33:30)
my boy is five years old and this is 2020 now and this film called Superhuman comes out and we watch it together and my boy instantly said “Oh yeah I want to do that I think I could do that maybe we can take a little class.”
You can watch the full SuperHuman documentary on YouTube: Superhuman – The Invisible Made Visible 2020.
The conversation focuses on children, often ages 5–11, trained to read, solve puzzles, or navigate while wearing blindfolds. These “Luminous Kids” are held up as examples of latent human capacities being activated early, possibly before societal conditioning limits belief in what’s possible.
Then the interviewer, Alec Zeck, shares about watching the demonstration of the children doing amazing things whilst wearing a blindfold. (~2:02:57)
“the coolest part to me wasn’t the blindfold vision there’s there’s two cool things that I want to share the first one was seeing the for me as a man this is impactful seeing the grown men weep and there was also women crying too but like seeing the adults weep at what they were witnessing that was undeniable because it was both a a sadness that oh my god like these children have not had their spark conditioned out of them to the degree that I did yeah what would I have had had I been raised differently but also at the same time the recognition that that spark that is inside of them is still inside of me and by me witnessing this right now I’m remembering that in me that will also allow me to be a steward to make sure that that doesn’t happen to these generations of kids cuz this is so incredibly precious and important and any child can do it yes any child can do it it’s not that these seven kids are special don’t get me wrong they are like they are but it’s that any child can do it”
Near the end Edith shares what she believes the children have to show us. (~2:26:22)
“these children they’re showing us we all have these abilities and it’s innate to every human being and that there’s a kind of a hundredth monkey effect that seems to be activating right now so this is so powerful it’s like the awakening of a whole new generation of human beings and I often say that it’s like we’re De-zombifying ourselves”
I think that Quote “we’re De-zombifying ourselves” is a great summary of the core message of the video.
Alec Zeck finishes by describing this interview as “I’m going to say for sure this is my favourite episode I’ve ever recorded”.

After I posted this review about the above video a lady shared another great video of Dr. Chan, Thanks Lynda.
Much of the content of this interview (1st June) is similar to the interview with Alec Zeck (28th June). Here are some other highlights.
More than 5 senses (~25:48)
Okay So about the senses So conventional medicine would say that even conventional medicine would say we have more than five senses now right traditionally were taught in school um I don’t know if anybody that listens to this podcast that actually goes to school anymore um the five physical sensors sight sound taste taste touch what’s the other one smell yeah so those five physical senses but in conventional 3D like allopathic medicine they would still say there’s like proprioception thermoception nociception the sense of pain interoception the internal sensing of your internal state of being What are all the ceptions a sensing of the passage of time Would that be called temporalception Uh electroception magnetoception um the sensing of the sense of someone staring at you is a sense that is documented now Um there’s all these different senses Something like 20 to 30 I I don’t know that there’s an agreement on how many senses a human being has even in the 3D physical materialist realm of medicine And then you add to that um all the intuitive senses now right Like clairvoyance clairsentience clairaudience clare all the claires there’s uh sensive smell So that would be called claireffectance Yeah Clairekesthesia Clairekinesesthesia clairegustance there’s of all the claires So there’s the physical level and then there’s the claire level of all of these same senses And then once those circuitries are enlivened and awakened and you exercise these muscles again and wake it back up then we’re talking about a civilisation of human beings where we can actually practice telepathy And even the telepathy has multi-level sensory experiences
Eyeballs NOT REQUIRED (~42:43)
And I love that you brought up that book about the blind people because I don’t think I I thought about that as a possibility And it’s just amazing what can occur You know these people that if they put in the time and the energy and the training you know that they may get to a point where they can you know walk around their house or interact with people and see Um well I don’t want to I mean I don’t want to give liability to your show but in the book it talks about how to get the blind person to pass a driving test like a a very methodical progression of activities to get them to the point where a blind person possibly with no eyeballs could drive a car I Hang on Hang on So the eyeball isn’t required Eyeballs are not required
Life decisions inner compass (~ 57:18)
So is my co-facilitator with our Luminous Kids program and he um activated his child when um his daughter was 13 and she’s now in her early 20s She’s graduating from university making big decisions with life and all of that stuff And so he often talks about as a young woman for her that’s where it really has been valuable She tunes into her blindfold vision state and she can tell which roommates to house with what degree to study what job to take All of that inner compass stuff is is um honed since she was a early teen And she’s been using that ability to make all these young adult decisions all the way into the rest of her life She has this ability now Maybe So it’s like what what you know sometimes people like why uh what good does this do It’s like what good does this not do What aspect of life could this not touch once this ability is awakened within you
Love is success (~1:28:00)
it’s almost like the love the joy the harmony the the beautiful energy that we bring is the secret sauce to success Yeah cuz the kids are tapping into this joyful playful openhearted state They’re in a super coherent heart open state when they’re doing this
Reads better with blindfold (~ 1:31:48)
So many of the families will report like “Yeah my kid can’t really read yet.” Well with the blindfold vision training they put on the blindfold and they give the kid a book Suddenly the kids start reading fluently What is going on here the kids reading more fluently blindfolded than without their blindfolded What is going on So that’s where we started thinking this is some kind of super coherent flow state training
This topic is obviously stimulating many people, I have had another video shared with me. Thanks Carolina.
This video is just one example of a 11 year old child demonstrating his abilities.
It’s a pity that when his mum demonstrates that she has a new pack of cards and that she has shuffled them, that she does not keep her hands and the cards in view of the camera, and that there is an obvious cut in the video just after she has shuffled the cards. I am not saying I don’t believe, it’s just that I have experienced that this is exactly what a skeptic will say.
There are plenty of other examples of him riding his bike and reading card at high speed elsewhere in the video, so well worth watching.
